About Us

D'orEvelynn was inspired by the constant arguments of 2 friends, Sarah and Brigitte. They would frequently argue over interior design for their home, with Sarah wanting a clean and modern interior and Brigitte wanting to go to the local flea markets to find old brass, foxed mirrors etc. They were both right.

The name of our collection, D’orEvelynn, comes from two sources. D’or, French for gold, symbolizes the warmth that every piece of our collection carries. Whether it is a modern table lamp or an old chandelier, made of brass, copper, crystal or any other material, it carries the warmth of gold. Evelynn, the grandmother of Brigitte, had a most wonderful cluttered and beautiful home, where she once again showed us that one considered detail can do more good than a whole room that tries too hard to be beautiful.

We continue to name each piece before they can be added to the collection of items we have considered for purchase. Many of the items that Sarah and Brigitte have considered for purchase are the subject of much argument. Ultimately the question that keeps returning is does this item look as though it has been found or has it been ordered?
